Website Content Management System
We love website content management systems! So much so that from our very first job in November of 2004 to today we have been building our own content management system (CMS).
What is it?
A website content management system is web-based software that enables you to manage your own website without relying on a website developer to make every change. There are many CMSs out there, but the one that we favor is our very own BranchCMS.
Why use it?
We feel that your website is your own, and you should be able to take care if it on your terms and your time. Nobody knows your business better than you do and you should be able to add new content, update content and make other changes to your website.
A CMS can also add many convenience features like making your website more search engine friendly, providing powerful tools to manage an online store, a blog, a gallery, a calendar or whatever else you can dream of.
Why BranchCMS?
BranchCMS is different from other content management systems because it focuses on making it easy to manage a custom-designed website. A lot of CMSs make it easier to build a custom-designed website, but not a lot of them truly make it easy to manage the content for one.
We can completely customize the CMS to meet the unique needs of your website. This means that you get a product that is custom-tailored to your unique website.
A few other reasons to use BranchCMS include:
- It's hosted and fully managed, so you don't have to worry about security updates, servers, or any IT stuff.
- Many different apps to enable online stores, blogs, calendars, staff directories, document repositories, rental properties, photo galleries, real estate, and more.
- It's affordable - starting at $25 / month, and that includes the website hosting.
- It's very SEO-friendly.
- It has marketing tools to help promote your website.

What about WordPress and other CMSs?
We know that one CMS can't satisfy the needs of every website out there. That is why there are literally thousands of CMSs. While we prefer BranchCMS, we can certainly work with other products. We've worked with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and other proprietary systems. We recently built a large website for the University of Maine at Farmington using WordPress.
