Project Overview

Franklin Printing of Farmington, Maine came to us to design and build them a new website that would better showcase their services and capabilities. Another goal of the project was to improve the process of clients submitting them design files. 

We designed them a new mobile-friendly website powered by BranchCMS that showcases all the different printing services that they offer as well as more information about their company than their old website had. 

File Upload Improvements

On their old website clients could upload design files but it was a clunky and unreliable service that often had issues with larger files. A lot of design files for a printer are 50+ MB in size and some are much larger than that. 

We solved each of those issues by integrating the file upload process into Amazon's S3 storage infrastructure. We also leveraged the ability in modern browsers to upload files in chunks so that clients can upload files of any size. As the file is uploaded they are shown a real-time progress of how much is left. This removes any guesses or concerns about if the file uploaded or how much time is left. The new file upload form also allows customers to upload multiple files, which creates a better experience for their customers.
